Gabriela Heredia. She is married to Manuel, who also appears in some of the pictures, and has three sons and a daughter by her previous marriage. She has worked as an interpreter for the U.S. Department of State in the past.
“Mariana and I love the Philippines,” said the former nurse. “We have been very happy here. We want to help to make sure that all Filipinos are safe and prosperous.”
The father said he was working to get the passport to his son, who is also being pursued for terrorism charges.
“These people who want to take the passport of a mother and destroy the Filipino nation are the same ones who tried to destroy the lives of my mother and other girls. They know how to kill people,” he said.
“They will do things to my mom. He should be punished as well so my son will not do these evil things.”
